oil on canvas, 180x120 cm.

Fargesia is a family of bamboos, found in alpine conifer forests of East Asia. They are known in Chinese as "jian zhu" meaning "arrow bamboo".
The bamboo in this painting: 'Fargesia victualia' is only found on Tanega Island, South of Japan and is grown as a source for food and fuel.

This is another one of my larger works. I painted about 700 shoots to create this field.

tilia arbora by *vanlubeck possesses that uncanny ability to cast the viewer both in doubt and wonder, with its extraordinary craftsmanship in achieving three-dimensionality and always breathing the spirit of surrealism... a true gem of this genre. I really enjoyed seeing the process of how you made this wonderful work. You must also do a lot of planning and sketching out before you get the canvas. You have an amazing talent and great perspective.

Thanks
You're right, an awful lot of lot of work goes in to the preparation. Each painting actually starts with very thin pencil lines. Unfortunately they don't show up in a photo, so you're missing that step. By the time I bring out my paint brushes, it's just a matter of connecting the dots :shh:
