oil on canvas, 120x80 cm.

This particular kind of apple tree grows on the foothills of the Stanovoy mountains, Eastern Russia. These trees have the remarkable characteristic of dropping all their fruit simultaneously. When this happens, it marks the start of the harvest season for the local Yakut people.

A limited edition giclée print of this work is available through my site www.vanlubeck.com

This is truly daylight atrocity, letting all this potential cider go to waste.

Perhaps I may not share your intellect. Which now that I think about it, might explain my disrespect for all the natural wonders that grow around me.

Never seen Gu Dexin's work before, thanks for bringing him to my attention. It's very cool work. Although I can hear my mother saying: "don't play with your food"!

Glad to see you appreciate my work, thanks
It's a very traditional oil on canvas (120x80cm), painted in a multilayer technique. Each apple is different so it took me way to long to paint :psychotic:
